Ballet barres

We supply and install ballet barres and brackets in a variety of designs. Single or double barres are available in a number of finishes, and brackets can also be supplied in different designs.

The barres can be made to almost any length, from a short section to a complete wall width.

Wall mounted safety mirrors

Safety mirrors can be installed in almost any size, from a small section to a complete floor to ceiling, full wall width installation. The mirrors have a cushioned backing and can be installed with a choice of surround.

Portable safety mirrors

Portable mirrors are an ideal solution for rooms which have limited space for wall mounted mirrors, or where the area is used for other sports or activities. The mirrors can be supplied single or double sided, and with or without ballet barres. They can be easily wheeled into position, then wheeled away to be stored when not in use. Multiple mirrors can be used to create a larger area.

Curtains and rails for mirrors

We supply and install curtains and rails to cover wall mounted mirrors, hiding and protecting them when not in use. The curtains can be supplied in a variety of colours and materials.

OG Technical - Ballet barres and mirrors

Sportsafe mirrors
Our mirrors are 4mm or 6mm silver, tinted or antique mirror with a Class "A" acrylic safety backing with adhesion that increases with age adhered to a 12 mm thick closed cell fire retardant cushioner. Mirror panels can be fitted to brick, block or plasterboard walls and butted together to make large areas either with polished edges or an aluminium T piece to cover the joins. Mirror panels are held in place by the perimeter wood or aluminium trim (which surrounds the entire panel or group of panels) with fixings through the surround and secondary adhesion of the mirror to the wall.
Wood surrounds are available in Ash, Beech or Oak and aluminium surrounds are available in standard polished finish but bronze, brass, gold, pewter or any powder coated colour are available at an extra cost.

Where a ballet barre is to be fitted a gap must be left between each glass panel for fixing the brackets. This can either be achieved by one horizontal gap with glass panels above and below or several vertical gaps. With timber surrounds all gaps for ballet bar brackets will have a timber section flush with the mirror face.
Mirrors meet BS6206 Class A Impact performance, ANSI 297.1 1984 human body impact, BS476 Class 0 both sides and fire performance.

To order mirrors please specify width, height, type of surround and type of joins required and whether provision for ballet barre brackets is required as we can cater for virtually any size.

Standard mirrors
6mm safety backed glass with polished edges and fixings through the mirror glass. These mirrors are for general use only and not recommended for dance, ballet or fitness suites or gymnasia.

Ballet barres
Ballet barres are made in 50mm diameter hardwood and can be lacquered or have a natural finish. These can be fitted to single or double brackets to give the height and projection required and we supply either stainless steel or powder coated steel brackets (available in different colours). It is recommended brackets are fitted every 1.2m of barre and to set the barre at between 940mm and 1160mm off the ground. We also provide a double bracket in steel, powder coated and with 100mm projection on the bottom rail and with the top rail slightly inset and with a 105mm height variation between the 2 rails providing barres for juniors and seniors along the same mirror.
